Hello Reader, You might know that most of my projects are managed in – gasp – Excel, because my stakeholders don’t have access to MS Project and they still need to be able to see the plans, action lists, budgets, etc, etc. (We also have Jira, and an enterprise PM software product.) So I spend a lot of time in Excel, and it’s not a fun time. Recently, I was on the phone with Grant Huang (who does Excel training), and I realised that I hadn’t updated my Excel skills for a long time. His cheat sheet of shortcuts was a good starting point, and I’m going to use Ctrl Shift L a lot! He also has a YouTube channel called Excel with Grant, if watching tutorials is more your thing. Anyway, I just wanted to pass that along in case you or someone on your team needs some resources to brush up on their Excel. I’m not affiliated to him or anything, I just like his short, to-the-point videos! Managing Multiple Projects is available for pre-order!In other news, the second edition of Managing Multiple Projects is now available for pre-order, and the publisher is offering 30% off with the code SALE30 until 2 May. If you are outside of the UK or US, you still might find it cheaper to pre-order on Amazon in your country (or whatever bookseller you prefer) because of postage fees. I'll tell you more about the book in due course, but I didn't want this offer to pass you by! Have a great week! Elizabeth P.S. Add these to your reading list for this week: |

I put off starting the Google Data Analytics course because I read that it was a big time commitment, and I didn’t really have time to feel like I was giving it my all. I was also a bit daunted about having to learn programming languages. I’ve now got round to starting the courses (at least), and this is my Google Data Analytics course review of the...

I put together a webinar a while back that shared my top 5 tips for managing multiple projects. You can watch the replay – there’s no registration or login required. In the webinar, I talk about the key things that make it easier to juggle all the projects: Milestone planning Dependency management Multi-stakeholder management...
Hello Reader, It's International PMO Day today. This is a relatively new day, I think it started last year. International Project Management Day (November) has been around for many years, so why shouldn't PMOs get their chance to shine too? How to set up a PMO was one of the questions that people came back to me with when I asked what you’d like help on a couple of weeks ago. I wouldn’t call myself a PMO expert, although I have run a team of PMs in the past, so I turned to my friend Bill Dow...
