Hello Reader, Do you ever feel like you run out of time every single day? I do. My ‘top priority’ sticky note has 9 things on it. How is that prioritising anything?? I want to get my evenings back! Having said that, this is unusual for me. I used to struggle a lot more with managing my time – but over the last few years I’ve figured something out. Time passes regardless. I know, that’s not rocket science. It’s how you prioritise and use your time that matters, and that means focusing on the important things and setting boundaries. Productivity comes when you use your time in the right way -- when your time is time well spent. I’m still a work in progress but now I follow my own ‘productivity blueprint’ to help me focus on what’s a priority. It’s a combination of:
I’m sure you know someone who is always busy but never actually gets anything done? Perhaps that’s even you? I don’t want anyone else to struggle with time management – because you don’t have to. That’s why on 27 January at 7pm GMT(UK)/2pm EST/6am AEST, I’m running a live workshop to show you how you can use the productivity blueprint in your own work. At this workshop, you’ll learn:
This training workshop is $19/£16 and includes some extra materials to help you get on top of your workload:
Register here for the training! (Yes, there will be a replay for registered attendees if real life gets in the way and you can’t make it live.) I’ll be looking for your name in the live chat! Best wishes, Elizabeth P.S. I’ll send another reminder in a couple of days, as I know you are busy. If you are A-OK with your time management and don’t want to hear about this workshop anymore, click here, and you won’t get any more messages about it. |

Hello Reader, At Project Forum last Tuesday, I attended a talk by James Garner and Yoshi Soornack on AI, because… well, FOMO really. The talk about AI is all over the place and staying up to date is tricky (some stats here about how it's actually being used). Two easy key takeaways for me were: Use AI as a thought partner, in much the same way as you chat about ideas to colleagues, but you can’t offload all cognition. Prescriptive analytics is the next step after predictive analytics – AI can...
Hello Reader, If you’ve ever thought: “The plan isn’t the problem. The stakeholders are.” You’re not alone. Even though that's not the sort of thing that project managers say out loud! Stakeholder management is where most projects either quietly succeed… or slowly unravel. It’s not just about sending updates (wouldn't it be easy if it was?). It’s about: Understanding influence and power Managing expectations Handling competing priorities Dealing with late changes Navigating politics (yes,...
Hello Reader, I get asked about the difference between PMBOK and PRINCE2 a lot. Usually it’s because someone is working in an environment that references one or the other (or both) and they’re trying to figure out whether they need to know about both, whether one is better, or whether the whole debate is just exam prep noise.
